BlueFoot’s New Instant Market Analysis Platform: Global market maps without the manual work or the unwanted subscriptions
BlueFoot officially launched its new Instant Market Analysis Platform on November 11, 2024. Its main value add is providing instant, global market maps for any technology term you enter - a capability that right now involves a lot of manual work or consulting dollars. Another bonus with the platform is no subscription is required. BlueFoot lets you try the platform for free, and then sells market map credits to its users.
It’s definitely a huge plus that you only have to buy the market map credits you need.
Core Features of the Platform
BlueFoot’s Instant Market Analysis Platform empowers its users to enter any technology term and get an instant global market map. Along with that market map, the platform delivers a list of the companies that fall within that global market. The platform is fast, easy to use, and powerful.
Once users get their market map, they can easily fine tune it to find the companies in their thesis. The platform also includes a myriad of filters related to entity type, HQ location, patent portfolio size, investment stage, revenue range, and more.
An unexpected bonus in BlueFoot’s new platform is the technology strength score included in every company profile. It breaks down a company’s technology strength for the tech term you enter, based on the quality of their patent portfolio in that tech area, the volume of that patent portfolio in that tech area, and the market influence that company has in that tech area. Because it is tech area focused, it lets a user benchmark companies against each other in the tech area they care about. The list of patents is helpful too. It’s a great gut check that the company in a market map is relevant, and it tells you where that company is innovating.
The Story Behind BlueFoot
Co-founders Rachel Lee and Ramya Possett come from the IP and software space. They started their careers in software engineering, then built an expertise in IP with experience spanning the government, global law firms, and Fortune 50 tech companies. That initial career in IP is why they wanted to bring their vision for BlueFoot to life – they always needed and wanted to have an easy way to find and benchmark companies in a particular technology area. According to Rachel, “to get a global market map for a bespoke tech area, you had to spend on a lot of consulting hours for one static report. BlueFoot is changing that game by introducing an instant market analysis platform.”
